See location marker on the map. There are three adjoining cottages perpendicular to the road, Brontë School House is the middle one.

Please note that public transport is unfortunately infrequent around here so a car is advisable. (It is possible to manage without a car though if you are fit and able and like to walk: there is a small general store and cafe in the village but the nearest recommended restaurant (other than Hipping Hall which is a fine dining restaurant, more of a special occasion rather than an every night sort of place) is a 2 mile walk, and the nearest town which has a very good supermarket, shops, bars, restaurants, etc is a 2 mile walk away but is also served by a local daytime bus)

Accessing by road from the south:

• M6 J34 is 13 miles away, then take the A683 (Kirkby Lonsdale direction) then A65 (Skipton direction); from the north: M6 J36 is 8 miles away, then take the A65 Skipton direction.

By public transport:

• By train from the east to Settle station, then bus 581 to Cowan Bridge. By train from the south to Lancaster Station, then taxi (30 minutes) to Cowan Bridge. By train from the north to Oxenholme station then taxi (16 minutes) to Cowan Bridge.

The nearest airports are Manchester (85 mins by car) & Liverpool (95 mins by car).
